Mimicking Human Habits

For this week's assignment, I used Arduino and a photocell to control the strength of candle's flame in Processing. This drawing of attention to common human actions that we sometimes don't give a second thought to is something that I'm interested in exploring.

For the final project, I'm thinking about creating a controller that would be used to control on screen activities, but each would require using the controller in a different, yet intuitive way. Some ideas include shaking a salt shaker, or hitting the bottom of a bottle of ketchup. By using these interactions, I want to draw attention to actions that we subconsciously perform on a daily basis, helping us consider these actions more consciously.

The aim is to not give on screen instructions, but allow the participant to intuitively figure out what to do.
